This Saturday, Jed and I had the opportunity to head downtown to partake in the St. Patrick's Day Festitivities downtown Chicago. Though it was cold, we had a fabulous time, and we enjoyed ourselves immensely.
The river being dyed bright green. It almost seems to be neon, doesn't it?
We walked around and found the "headless statue park" as Jed put it. The figures almost looked like mummies with their textured bodies. Their feet were enormous, and we had a fun time walking around the 'crowd' of figures.
We saw some behind the scenes action of getting set up for the parade. Of course, we had to stop to check out the many Deloreans lined up on the street ready to go on. Jed was even allowed to sit in one!

You're right about the neon green color...it is intense!
You and Jed are quite the weekend adventurers. Making the most of your trip with the river coloring, the parade, the cars, and the sculptures is pretty impressive!
I've never really seen what the river looks like when they "make it green" for St. Patrick's Day. They really mean GREEN, don't they!? That's awesome. It looks like you guys had a great time!

anne, i've never seen the river that green before either and i've lived here my whole life. and that picture of just you posing with the river in the back almost looks surreal. you've inspired me to one day partake in the st. patrick's day festivities downtown. one day. ~snow
