And the world still goes 'round

Lately, with this winter drama that continues to come down from the sky and pile up all around creating slush and grey for all to see as they trudge along feeling like nothing new would ever strike again, it is important to remember that time is still ticking. Much as we think we are in a winter standstill, we are not, and spring is around the corner, just not visible enough yet for our sight.

Jed and I have both been attempting to keep our spirits and energy up despite the cold and snow, and over the weekend we had a few things to distract us from the dreariness outside.

On Saturday, we were able to go to a fundraiser auction through my school. We acquired a few items that actually turned out to be quite a deal-including movie tickets, restaurant gift certificates, and a few bottles of scotch and licquor that will stand with the rest of our collection in our pantry.

My parents were able to come out for the night as well, and it felt so nice to see them and spend some time with them out on the town. We had a great time circulating the room, and chatting at dinner. Thanks for being there!
P.S. Check out the restaurant that the auction was held at! There were trees alongside the dance floor. It's not everyday that you can witness something like that!

It was a surprisingly fun night...surrounded by twinkling stars and green trees in the middle of February! Too bad we didn't know about this place when we were planning your wedding reception ;)!

Wow, scotch at a fundraiser for a Lutheran school?? Sounds pretty liberal for folks who won't ordain women...
;)

The room looks cool though!
