Catching Up (Part One): Colorado

At the end of June, Jed and I got to take Ellie to Colorado to meet the family and stay with Grandma and Grandpa Bassett at their home. It was nice to have everyone meet Ellie in this stage of life as she is pretty social and interested in interacting and smiling.

Early on in the week, Diane's side of the family came over for a nice dinner of chicken tetrazzini and fellowship. Later in the week, Dave's side of the family came over for a spread of great food as well!

We also spent a morning in the park with Chad and Amanda and their family. It is fun to see Ellie "playing" and "hanging out" with her cousins, Addison and Brianna.

Another morning was spent at Heritage Square. We did some alpine sliding (sorry, no pictures of us doing that...the camera was a little to bulky to take up the side of the mountain) and took a train ride around the park. Ellie slept through the whole ride. The heat really tuckered her out.

Dave and Diane enjoyed getting to play with Ellie in the mornings and feed her her ever so appetizing rice cereal and bananas (she's a fan!).

One morning/early afternoon, we got to meet up with my cousin's wife, Timi, and their two kids, Cecelia and William.

Good times! We loved our trip, and we were so glad that everything worked out as well as it did.
