Garrison Keillor at Ravinia

I suppose I am working my way backwards here and am detailing the weekend events in reverse.

Saturday afternoon, Jed and I took a very crowded Metra out to Ravinia for the Garrison Keillor 'concert.' Although it is not a concert persay, it still felt like a big event for one and all to listen to, thus my reasoning behind the concert-ness of naming this event.

Cicadas were in full bloom in the trees, but they seemed to not be as present in and on the ground that we sat, ate, and rolled around in for the evening.

Our Ravinia Table in a Bag was put to good use, and so were several pieces of our camping gear. We felt really classy.

We sat with the Wallgren family and had loads of fun listening to Garrison Keillor and spending time with one another. I particularly found all of Gwen's different hairstyles quite amusing.

Here is a close up of us. You can see the stage behind us:

And here is an attempt at getting closer up to the stage:

It was cool that even when he does a show away from Minnesota, his trademark house is at every event.

What did you think of musical guest, Jon Trost? He's a local (Christian guy)here in Lake Geneva. He plays at Potbelly's, Starbucks, etc., as well as various benefits. A piece of trivia: Jon sent a tape in for a PHC music contest, but didn't win. Instead, they called and asked him to be the musical guest on the show. Hm. Which do you think is better?

Funny that you were watching Garrison Keillor live in Illinois, while we were in Minnesota and could have been listening to a live radio version from Illinois!
