Alli and Luke Get Hitched!

Jed and I were off to Connecticut on Thursday night to leave for Alli and Luke's wedding and wedding preparations. At the airport we found ourselves next to the runway overlooking the window in a little nook.

We woke up in our hotel room on Friday morning ready to do some exploring of the area. Jed and I drove in our ever so cool PT Cruiser around the coast, stopping along the way at a few different scenic ocean locations. It was excellent weather, and we had ourselves a ball.


On Friday afternoon, we headed out to the rehearsal at the church and the rehearsal dinner afterwards. We had fine fellowship and fabulous Italian food. No one left the restaurant hungry. My personal favorite for the meal was the dinner rolls. Seriously, I know that sounds crazy, but they were the twisty kind, hot out of the oven, full of spices and amazing texture. I couldn't keep my hands (and mouth) off of them. Yum!


After dinner, we were invited over to Alli's aunt and uncles house for dessert. Of course, we were all stuffed, but when there are chocolate covered strawberries and other treats, it is hard to resist. Alli and Luke gave out wonderful thank yous and gifts to the wedding participants. All of us girls were given some treats and silver bracelets to wear on the BIG day, complete with a quote inside. It was so sweet! Here is a picture of all of us bridesmaids with the bride to be.

The next morning, the ladies were back at Alli's aunts house to do hair, make up, petting of the loon (you can see it in Alli's lap), and sipping Mimosa's in celebration of the day.




We made it to the church, and it was time for Alli to get ready. She put on her gown, and we practiced helping her with her bustle. What a beautiful bride!

The ceremony was wonderful and heartfelt. The sactuary had these tall ceilings and large windows which made things seem so open and clear. Afterwards, they were driven away in a sweet car by Uncle Rob.


The reception was held at the Cromwell River Museum and the day couldn't have been more beautiful. Alli and Luke had a great photographer who liked to do a lot of artsy poses and backgrounds.


At the reception we were given lobster to eat for dinner. Us midwesterners had a hard time knowing how to eat the lobster. Once we dove in, the rewards were great. We even got bibs to prevent us from messing up our clothes.

The reception was lovely, and of course there was some great dancing at the end by all.
