Tulips and Two Lips

In our neighborhood, clear evidence of the impending summer season has been popping up everywhere. With this, Jed has found himself incredibly excited at the prospect of what to do to make our yard look nice. Last fall, Jed envisioned tulips along the front stone area in front of our house. Who knew how beautiful they would look? Now that they're here, it is a pleasant little grouping of flowers to look at while walking up to the door. Even though the tulips and the pop of color now look fabulous, Jed has been planning and stewing over what to put there once the tulips are done for the season. Can't wait to see what he has in store!

Not only have the floral tulips been in bloom, our little Ellie has been putting her "two lips" to good use and fun in the terms of blowing raspberries a lot of the time.

Here she has been caught in the act: she purses her lips and begins to blow bubbles while "talking" and the raspberry is created. She is very serious about this endeavor, and she tends to do it over and over while catching someone's eye. What she's trying to say; who knows? I know that dolphins have a whole communication system bases on whistles and songs that actually mean something. Maybe she's already telling us about her life story and we don't even know it!?

As a side note, the sweater that Ellie is donning is also one that used to be mine when I was a little girl. My mom told me that my Grandma Lindahl made it for me. Who knew it would be worn by her granddaughter someday too? How fun!

Love that two lip picture! She looks like her Daddy in that one.
