More Colorado

Aside from the wedding, Jed and I were able to enjoy other little adventures in Colorado.

One adventure was the day after the wedding. We went with Lori, Nathan, and Marissa to see Dragonboat Racing. I had never seen anything like it before. Two teams at a time competed. These were not professional looking teams either. They seemed to be companies who found employees interested in participating for the day's events. Spirit these teams had, and we enjoyed watching them whoop and holler at the opposing team (all in good fun, of course) .

It was so hot outside, that we were desparate for any shade that we could find. Jed's Aunt Lori treated me and Marissa to these ornate Chinese umbrellas. They were so beautiful, and kept us nice and cool...well, as cool as cool could be considering how hot it was outside.

After this adventure, Jed and I found ourselves enjoying a little bit of time with his extended relatives at a family reunion. It was held at a large park that had a mini train running around the area. Of course, the day would not be complete if we didn't take a little ride on it. Ah, how fun it is to feel like a young kid again!

Very early on Monday morning, we said farewell to Dave and Diane for now as we departed on our journey up to Montana. We had such a nice time with the Bassetts, and we are so grateful to have such wonderful parents/in-laws.

Thanks so much Dave and Diane for everything! We had a great time!

Who knew there was Dragonboat racing in Colorado...did it make you want to join in because of your experiences with crew racing??
