Being on the Farm is Serious Business

A few weeks ago, we went with neighbors of ours to a local farm. Our kids get along really well, so we were expecting a grand old time between the two of them and watching them explore.

Ellie was actually pretty serious about the whole trip, which surprised me. Given, she did run around in between farm locations with wild abandon, but as soon as it came time to "officially" check something out, she was stoic.

Here she is with daddy checking out the cow. Serious.

Indoors, there was an area for kids to collect and deposit eggs (fake eggs, don't worry!). Ellie took this job very seriously, and one would think that this was actually her job. She carried her basket and dove into the fake hay with vigor, searching for any new eggs that may have arrived.
Just before we left, we checked out the tractor. Ellie showed no affect upon sitting in this farming vehicle.

Maybe this means that farming is not her calling for right now. Oh well, she still likes to sing about Old MacDonald - this counts for something, right?

LOVE the tights! She just gets cuter and cuter!

Sometimes I've noticed Colin is serious when he is REALLY interested in something...or he dislikes it intensely. Who knows???
