After attending the wedding of our dear friends just across the border to Indiana, we had a chance to go to the restaurant, Nightwood, for their famous "bacon butterscotch doughnut."
(Jed being a Food Network junkie saw this featured on a show and had to see it for himself.)
What an experience it was - filled in the middle to the brim with chunks of bacon and glazed with the perfect amount of butterscotch goo, it was surprisingly tasty to eat. Not a sweet as you would imagine, its slight saltiness was surprisingly good.
We were seated where we were watching (and chatting) the cooks preparing many different delectably delicious looking breakfast items. On our way out the door, the restaurant surprised us by giving us a doughnut (different flavor) on the house to go. What a place!
Crazy, surprising doughnut!
