New Year, New Youth Group

Just around the start of the school year, we had a welcoming outing for the new high leaguers at the beach.  It wasn't just any old beach at that, it was a PRIVATE beach on Lake Michigan that a couple from church was kind enough to let us use for the afternoon.

Let's just say that it was not the perfect beach weather that one would think would be at the end of the summer.  It was actually quite a cold day.  Most of us were in sweatshirts and long pants (as I suppose you can also see from the picture...)

Some kids (and crazy counselors!) actually took a dip for a few moments in the water.  This usually ended up with shrieking and screaming as they quickly took off back into the shore as quick as one can blink an eye.

We got to play "Take Two" and eat pita bread with hummus as well as feast upon Mike&Ikes and Twizzlers.  Fun times!
