Little did we know that our chips, dips, and stuff for grilling wouldn't quite be the norm for the tone of the other groups "tailgating" with us that day. Apparently the norm was to dress up to the nines - WITH a vibrantly unique hat, bring white topped tents, cater our meal, AND bring in actual furniture to sit in/at under our tents.
We actually had a few guys walk by us as we were grilling to comment about what a novel idea it was to be grilling - what a novel idea indeed.
Fun was had by all, despite our sticking out like a sore thumb. We knew a guy who was a ref. for the earlier game, and we got to have Ellie pet a horse for the very first time. She was mostly indifferent, but deep down I know that she loved it. Of course, being our first born, we BOTH had to get in with her petting the horse.

We got to take part in stomping the divots (channeling Pretty Woman, anyone?) and watched the hounds run around the field to introduce the games for the day.
Here are the horses in action - feel free to blow up the picture to see it a little bit better.

Maybe Miss E will grow up to like horses as her Mama did in a certain phase of her life!
