1. The lazy susan in the kitchen needed to actually spin.
2. The drawers in the kitchen needed to open.
3. Some electrical work needed to be rewired and corrected (Thanks, Dave!)
4. The outside all around the house front and back had to be tamed, flowered, and straightened up.
The yard and area around the front and back of the house was by far the worst and biggest project that when completed would really polish off the look that we were going for.
Jed has been the super star in this area for sure. He has found, planted, inquired about, and taken care of new plants. He has dug out nasty over-grown areas to turn into a little garden. He takes impeccable care of the grass, watering the crap out of the formerly neglected grass in the front yard and mowing regularly. He continues to amaze me.
Yesterday, with the help of our fantastic friends (Thanks Andrew, Pete, and Peter!) our yard was transformed.
This is the before picture. See how the brick pavers are falling over and set up into this ho-hum design?
If you didn't believe that the stone pavers were a little gross looking before, check them out now. The cool thing about this, though, is that within minutes and hours of being listed for free on craigslist, they had been claimed and picked up for someone else to enjoy.
And now, we have this lovely new stone brick to drool over. It has been artistically curved to accentuate our little yard. We have new stepping stones just in front of the stairs to the house that are divine. How nice it is to have this new update to our house.
Who knew that Jed and I would be getting a 'face lift' of our own so soon in life?
