Swimming Lessons

This morning Ellie had her very first swim lesson at the ripe hour of 8am.  We were wanting to make sure that she remained comfortable in the water this winter, so we thought that this would be the perfect thing for her.

What does a swimming class look like for a child of her age?  Well, it's filled with lots of singing, splashing, lifting, jumping (lunging) off of a ledge into mom or dad's arms, and at the end there was a grand finale of various water toys (balls, ducks, boats, etc.) to bob around amidst the other classmates.

Needless to say, Ellie LOVED it.  She was shrieking in the water and clapping during some of the songs (she seemed to really like the Wheels on the Bus Go Round and Round song).  She enjoyed watching the other kids and she giggled when she was lifted up into the air out of the water and then back down again.

I would have to say, this class was a hit.  Thank you, YMCA!
