Christmas with the Bassetts in the Chicagoland Area

The Bassett Families from Colorado came to visit our Bassett Family here for Christmas this year.  What a fun time we had!

Maja got to meet her Grandpa Bassett for the first time.  Maja was enthralled by him, though she needed a little bit of support from her pacifier during this interaction as it was during her bewitching hours.  Don't they both look dapper in red?
One evening, we headed out to Lincoln Park Zoo to see the infamous zoo lights.  Of course, we had to check out some of the animals along the way.  Check out the sleeping tiger to the right.

How could we go to the zoo and not ride the carousel?

Why not ride a zebra?

Since we were all together, we wanted to make sure to get a picture of us all.  Our neighbor was kind enough to snap some shots of us all.  This is the only one of us where (almost) all of us were looking at the camera and looked (relatively) normal.  What a handsome group, huh?

And what kind of visit to Chicago doesn't involve at least a little bit of shopping?  One morning, we all headed downtown and ended up walking around a bit and shopping at the Water Tower Place.  Grandma & I took Ellie and Addison to the American Girl Place.  Both girls wanted just about everything that they laid eyes on but for the most part were content to look and explore the various girly items around the store.  The bitty baby section was their favorite as the dolls and accessories were (for the most part) at their eye and hand levels.

We couldn't forget to get one last picture before everyone departed of grandparents and their grand kids.  Surprisingly good shot of them all, don't you think?
