Oliver

As you know, Oliver is a huge fan of going outside.  He has been known to see near the back door and look at us longingly with a meow to let us know his strong feeling for his need to go out.

Jed and I originally thought that once he caught on to this whole winter weather thing, he would realize that it is not quite the best time for him to be out and about in the backyard.  Not quite the case.

Even though Oliver looks outside and catches drifts of the temperatures as we are walking in and out, he still begs by the backdoor to be let out.  So today, as it is a snow day, we let him.

At first, seeing the blusters, he hesitated at first.  After a little bit, he meandered out, walking around on the deck shaking his paws (that must have been wet and cold).  Before we knew it, he bolted underneath the deck where he proceeded to hang out for a good 10 minutes or so before we were able to coax him out and inside the house again.

I guess he doesn't mind the weather and snow as much as we thought.  Maybe we'll need to try some of those kitty booties that Marshie (my parent's old cat) used to have to see if that will make him a little more comfortable.

Hi Guys. Sounds like Oliver is a cutie! I keep checking your blog for updated house photos... any chance you'll be posting some soon? Or maybe you're still living in boxes, which would be totally understandable considering you're both teachers.
